In 5 Years; How Will Media Affect Us?

Currently, Americans are hypnotized by social media and all of their facets. Regardless of the creditability of the source or the over-dramatization of the news reported, we are easily persuaded and gullible to believe just about anything. Just the other day I was scrolling through my Facebook news feed and found a post about Will Smith dying. I instantly knew that it wasn't true, but a part of me was concerned and a little upset. I was afraid that I would never be able to get jiggy wit it without balling me eyes out like a little girl!
Even with the recent death of Paul Walker there were talks of it being a hoax. So when someone dies it's already considered false and the same goes for someone who is still living. So, how does media change in the next 5 years? Americans already access media through portable tablets and phones, so I don't see any change in the way we can view media. I did notice that some gas stations are placing televisions at the pumps for the convenience of having something to do while performing something so boring. In 5 years that may become more of a standard; seeing t.v.'s everywhere.

The younger generations, since they were born in the peak of media, will have a much harder time deciphering what is real and false. News channels and shows like TMZ will become creative and report their stories in ways that make them seem even more true than what we see today. Media will become more conniving and things that we see once in a blue moon today will happen more and more frequently in the next 5 years. It's pretty scary to think that everything you read and see could just be another plow to make you believe. But that's what fuels the media, because we buy, view, and read their product.
